Traditionally, we have been closely involved in the energy and telecom sectors. As lawyers for the Curaçao and Bonaire water and electric utility companies and the operator of the ISLA refinery in Curaçao, we have gained experience with the many facets both of the production and distribution aspects of our island’s energy supply. Our legal services have been enlisted for contracts, disputes, takeovers and concession agreements. Additionally, our office has been intensively involved from the outset in the asphalt lake project in Curaçao, a commercial and environmental project of great magnitude with special significance for our community.
At Soliana Bonapart & Aardenburg, we pride ourselves on having broken up the mobile telephony monopoly in Curaçao by taking the matter to court. We provide advice on and litigate practically all telecommunication matters, including: concession agreements, legislation, contracts, telecommunication licenses and authorizations, interconnection disputes, bandwidths and frequencies, streaming and supervision. In addition, we have assisted telecommunication companies in takeovers and the (re) financing and launching of their company.
