Our islands are inherently maritime nations. Curaçao’s harbor is the second largest in the Caribbean. Likewise, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba also boast their own harbors and cruise terminals. We are one of the few law firms in Curaçao that regularly litigates shipping cases, from collisions and cargo damage, detaining ships, to ship auctions and registering ships. Similarly, our office has supported the aviation sector since our founding. For many years, we acted on behalf of the former national airline company of the Netherlands Antilles.
Currently we act as counsel for local airline companies and we were intensively involved in the acquisition of the majority interest in Curaçao’s airport operator by a foreign consortium. For years large trading firms and agencies have been our clients, in addition to the harbor stevedoring firm. We review and prepare agency, distribution and commercial agreements and transport conditions.
